COMMUNITY HOSPITAL ANDERSON
Two modern hospitals, Community Hospital Anderson and Saint John’s Health System serve the Anderson area. Community Hospital with 207 beds and 21 bassinets, has a medical staff of 125 physicians. Saint John’s Health System has 308 beds and 25 bassinets and a medical staff of 145 physicians. Each of the medical staffs include specialists in anesthesia; ear, nose and throat; gynecology; obstetrics; radiology; orthopedics; pathology; pediatrics; psychiatry; radiology; surgery; and urology. Both hospitals have 24 hour emergency departments. Other services provided by both hospitals include modern radiology departments, nuclear medicine, comprehensive therapy departments (offering physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech and hearing therapy). Physician referrals are made through a physician referral line.
Community Hospital Anderson is an affiliate of the Community Health Network.
Other network services provided in Anderson include Crestview Center for the
treatment of chemical dependency and MedCheck which is an urgent care center.
Community Hospital offers a comprehensive array of cardiac services, including cardiac catherization performed by cardiologists. Additionally, it provides a wide variety of specialized medical services, including the Emergency Department, staffed by board certified emergency medicine physicians; the Pregnancy Plus Program for limited-income women; the family-centered maternity care the Extended Care Center for patients making the transition from hospital to home or to a nursing home; the Stroke Rehabilitation Program; ProCare Rehabilitation Services for individualized outpatient physical and occupational rehabilitation plans; the hearing services and hearing aids; the Sleep Disorders Center; the Same Day Surgery Center; and the Lifeline Emergency Response System.
Community Hospital’s 13,000 square foot ProCare facility provides space needed for one-on-one education and therapy, as well as providing the area’s only complete aquatic therapy setup. Services offered are: Physical Therapy, Aquatic Therapy, Industrial Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine, Work Conditioning Programs.
SAINT JOHN’S HEALTH SYSTEM
Facilities provided by Saint John’s Health System include:
Saint John’s Medical Center-Acute care facility with 24-hour emergency department featuring the area’s only on-site air-medical transportation and the St. Vincent Chest Pain Center; birthing center (featuring state-of-the-art labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum -LDRP-rooms and newborn nursery); critical care/intensive care; cardiology services (including cardiac cath lab); joint replacement center; outpatient diabetes education program; radiology/imaging services, including nuclear medicine, CT, MRI, and PET scan; state-of-the-art laboratory and pathology services; and the Continuing Care Center, a skilled, extended-care unit.
Saint John’s Cancer Center-Comprehensive cancer program with radiation therapy (including the latest IMRT technology and high dose rate brachytherapy), outpatient chemotherapy, cancer rehabilitation therapy, and a cancer support group. Saint John’s also offers an in-home hospice program through Saint John’s Home Care Services. Saint John’s Women’s Center provides the latest technology for breast cancer detection.
Saint John’s Anderson Center specializes in treatment for addictive diseases and mental health problems for adults and adolescents. Services range from outpatient counseling to acute inpatient services and adolescent residential treatment program.
Rehabilitation—Outpatient physical and occupational therapies are provided at two Carl D. Erskine Rehabilitation facilities. The rehabilitation centers also provide specialized services for continence rehabilitation and pelvic health, low vision, speech and audiology, lymphedema, and wound care. New dynamic balance testing and treatment system makes Saint John’s a regional balance center. The Bennett Rehabilitation Center, an inpatient rehabilitation center, provides comprehensive, intensive therapy under the direction of physiatrists.
Saint John’s Medical Supplies sells and rents durable medical equipment, medical and post-surgical supplies, mobility equipment, daily living aids and ostomy, respiratory, diabetic and incontinence supplies.
Med One Urgent Care Center provides convenient access to occupational medicine services and a walk-in medical clinic.
